Hi I understand that our cars are not MOT exempt as we are classified as heavy modified. The chassis is changed from the donar vehicle which clearly states heavy modified in chassis section and KIT Cars section .

Yes that’s what my mot inspector told me. What confuses me is the relationship between tax exempt and mot exempt. Some of our tax exempt kit cars were not first registered 40 years ago but still qualify.

Yes it is confusing but a bonus for owners of cars which are tax exempt. We not using our cars so much so I think we should all be exempt

    Hi dek
Very sorry but I did not reply to your last question fully
    My v5 states
    Date of 1st reg -- /--/1967
    And
Date of 1st reg in UK--/--/1967
    No date of manufacture
So it must just depend who fills out paperwork at it 's initial inspection
    Welcome to Great Britain
    Steve

So with all the mot posts I thought I would go and get one anyway or try!!
Mot chap says as a 67 reg
    Visual check for emissions/ exhaust
Too low to get on the brake test rollers
So the old G-force test for brakes
1 slightly stiff wheel /brake calliper
    All okay .........
    No failed 😲😲...number plate light
    Not working b.....ks !
Still well happy with that result

Result! So presumably you didn’t apply for exemption and the garage can submit your test result to the dvla and issue you with a certificate?
