    Sorry for the late reply Ian. Yes rover on the bottom and what ever the pattern is to match the adaptor plate and cover

    The trick I have always found to work is to assemble them with a layer of silicone on both sides of the gasket but not to do them up more than finger tight until they have well and truly gone off, then finish doing them up at least 24ht's later. Never failed me. This is for the adapter plate, on a normal rocker cover or sump gasket I would do one side at a time but the same basic process.

    i got a pair of offenhauser on a rover v8 with no adapter plates
    real steel had a batch made or got hold of sets to fit the rover in the early 90s
    rare as hens teeth ,,,,and no i don't wont to sell them as many have asked me
