Hi to you all,
It looks like our monthly meets must have had some weird weather jinx going on for the past few months. Leading up to March’s meet, it was a bit chilly. However, over that weekend, we had another ‘mini beast’ and a blast of cold weather and snow fall. Again.
We had friends visiting for the weekend, so decided to saddle up the conventional all-weather car and, along with our dawg, we all headed to The Cock in Brent Eleigh.
The pub is a traditional 2 bar pub, with tables set for a very popular Sunday roast. We contented ourselves with a warm by the fireside, some convivial chat, and a few adult beverages, whilst the dawg snoozed by the roaring fire.
Later, we did the tourist thing and had a wander around Lavenham, carefully avoiding the frozen foot paths.
Who needs sun and warm weather to get out in the East Anglian countryside?

The day before, Steve braved the cold and sleety weather at the 76th Goodwood Members Meeting. Despite the Artic conditions, a full day’s wheel to wheel racing was enjoyed, along with the usual Goodwood pomp and ceremony. Seeing cars coming sideways into Woodcote corner in the sleet was particularly entertaining!

Since that weekends Winter fun and games, we’ve enjoyed a slightly more Spring like Easter long weekend.
For Steve, the highlight has been working his way through the wonderful home-made hot cross buns, lovingly crafted by Eileen. Apart from a few gardening jobs, the Big Black Dax has remained ‘resting’ in the garage. Let’s hope April perks up a bit and makes open topped motoring a bit more of a possibility!

Which brings us to this month’s meet on Sunday 15th April @ 12:00, we’re off to East Suffolk. In time honoured fashion, we’ve stuck a well sharpened pin in the Good Beer Guide map again and chosen - The White Horse Inn, White Horse Hill, Tattingstone, Ipswich, IP9 2NU and (01473) 328 060. We’ll see you there.

Don’t forget to respond with your interest for the classic car meeting at Burston Village & Crown Pub (near Diss) on 27th May 2018. “Classic Cars will be parked at the (16th century) Crown Pub and on the village green, around a Maypole adjacent to the historic Strike School. Refreshments and facilities will be available at both the famous Strike School and the Burston Crown”.
Please RSVP if you are interested in attending.

We’ll continue to populate the ‘3rd Sunday’ calendar with interesting pubs to visit in our usual ‘On Tour’ format.
If you have a recommendation or favourite venue, please let us know.
