    Hi to you all,
Success! We’ve finally had some decent weather for the 3rd Sunday Monthly Meet. April’s meet, at The White Horse Inn, Tattingstone was suitably dry and warm, so Steve hauled the slumbering beast out of the garage and trundled up the road to the pub. On arrival, a small cobra line up was already forming. Andy Soar was in his Corvette, with Mark & Sandra giving the BRA 289 an airing. Shortly we were joined by Ann Mobbs with Christian attending to the driving duties in the GD. So, as is traditional in these parts, a ‘line up photo’ was taken (maybe as some sort of proof that we were all there and it was not snowing).
The pub was very accommodating and sat us at a long table for us to contemplate the contents of their menu. Unfortunately, Andy & Julie, having been organised and pre-booked, were sat in the adjoining room, so trips were made back and forth to relay conversations.
The biggest decision was whether to go for roast pork, roast beef or roast pheasant – or to go full-on and have a bit of all three.
Naturally, thoughts then turned to dessert, and the usual custard / no-custard conundrum. In the end, most of us behaved ourselves and abstained (although a long walk around the nearby reservoir was considered by a few).
The grand old Dax behaved impeccably and, later in the month, after a check over and spruce up by Steve, passed the MOT. So, there’s no excuse to put some miles on the car now that Summer is around the corner.

Although the May Day Bank Holiday weekend is the National Kit Car Show at Stoneleigh, we decided to stay at home and wade through a load of outdoor and gardening jobs that had been backing up. So, after some planting of crops in the veg patch, a spot of light concreting and painting and a couple of roof repairs later, we fired up the BBQ and cooked up a storm (not literally thankfully). Did anyone from our region go to Stoneleigh? Did you bag some bargains / bits of carpet / cheap tools?

Which brings us to this month’s meet on Sunday 20th May @ 12:00, we’re off to West Norfolk. Steve visited this pub last in snow and sleet, but reckoned it was worthy of a revisit when the weather improved. So, let’s go back to - Olde Windmill Inn, Water End, Great Cressingham, IP25 6NN
http://oldewindmillinn.co.uk/ and 01760 756232. Great Cressingham is off the A1065 halfway between Mundford and Swaffham.
Don’t forget to phone and book if you intend to eat.

We haven’t received any responses regarding the classic car meeting at Burston Village & Crown Pub (near Diss) on 27th May 2018. “Classic Cars will be parked at the (16th century) Crown Pub and on the village green, around a Maypole adjacent to the historic Strike School. Refreshments and facilities will be available at both the famous Strike School and the Burston Crown”.
We may have a look-see if the mood takes us.

We’ll continue to populate the ‘3rd Sunday’ calendar with interesting pubs to visit in our usual ‘On Tour’ format.
If you have a recommendation or favourite venue, please let us know.

    Hi Ben,

You would be most welcome of course.
I am sure you can probably track us down through the car park. Not sure who will be there or in what though.

    Regards,

    Andrew
