    Fuel tank and boot floor

I have about a 10mm gap between my fuel tank and the boot floor where the tank inlet and fuel sender are.
Has anyone else had this issue and if so how did you seal the gap around the fuel filler/ sender and the boot floor.

    Cheers

    Mike.

I am about to seal off my filler and sender but the gap between them isn't anywhere near 10mm. It is only about 2 -3 mm.
Did you put anything under the tank fixing tabs? I used some 4mm rubber pads.

I intend to use the Sika flex stuff. Then I am going to 'box in' the filler tube, vent tube and sender with abs plastic.
    That's the plan!

No I haven’t put anything under the tabs. I’ve just had another look at the gap and it’s probably more like 6-7mm. I’ve found a foam seal that looks like it may do the trick.

My plan was to make a fibreglass moulding to completely encase the sender, breather and inlet hose, then for access cut the cavity created into the wheel arch.

That way no sealing to the boot floor is required.

No, I'm not "repairing" it, I'm fine tuning its performance.
