    No sooner said . . . . .

    To my untrained eyes the inside looks to be unaffected, but after only 5,000 miles perhaps this was to be expected. The prime culprit would therefore appear to be heat???

    As stated previously I have just put Gates Barricade piping on mine. However, close to the engine I have bought some ''gold cubiscan'' heat resistant sleeving that I will utilise close to the manifolds. I got it from Demon Tweeks and costs £34.92/metre. It fits 1/2" to 11/4" pipe and withstands 800 degs C direct heat. Not cheap but safety first!

    Thanks for the pointer, I will have a look at that - definitely going to use some form of heat management.

    That's a first! - you are normally seated!!

    I don't dispute that the current fuels can lead to degradation of the old style fuel hoses over time. However in my particular situation, given the age of the hoses and the small mileage driven, the main factor has been the heat.
