    Replacement speedo

My speedo has finally died (it's been repaired a couple of times but never seems to last) and it's time to replace.

I'm looking at getting the electronic Smiths type but what about the mileage? How do I go about getting the mileage currently on the car put on the new speedo?

    Many thanks

You don't need to. Just keep the old speedo to show the buyer of your car in the future?
    MOT's should prove mileage too.

When I chainged mine as I fitted the smiths flight range I just connected it to a signal generator. As the miles dont register if the signal is equivalent to over 180mph it took 9 days I think. I just wanted the indicated milage to be correct which I know a lot of people will think is mad.

    Thanks guys,

Like the idea of generating a signal to move mileage on. May have to give that a go even if not necessary.

If I can get the mileage correct(ish) that would be great.

Whilst I'm at it, I was going to use one of these sensors - https://www.demon-tweeks.com/uk/revo...sor-gloss34-1/

Is there a better one or better way of obtaining the signal?

They can probably sell you one with the correct mileage already done for you

    Thanks Jim,

I've emailed them although I swore I'd never use them again after some appalling service shortly after they bought speedy cables (years ago though).

Yup Sean, that's what I've used (it will also provide a speed signal if you ever go to EPAS and use a switchable controller for the EPAS ECU).
