    Buying a brightwheel viper v8

    Hello everyone!

My name is Arnulf, and I am addicted to cars (i general)
Parked utside my house at this time is 7 cars, Tesla Model S P85, Nissan leaf, Chevy silverado, 2x Datsun 240Z and 2xPorsche 928. Datsuns and Porsches is being rebuildt. One of the Datsuns will take the shape of a 250GTO.
I am looking to expand this parkinglot with a Brighwheel Viper V8 I stumbled on to while on vacation in Denmark this summer.

The local vehicle administration has these last few days given positiv answers to my inqueiries regardig registraton of the car in question.
The car in question is a 1990 model, regitered on the V5 as a "Brigthwheel 2-axle-ridgid body sports" reg number q448gfx

I need to check some more stuff before pulling the trigger on this.

can I get an MOT history using the registration number?
    what does "Q" reg mean?
    what is IVA/SVA?
what kind of documents can be found for this car?

    technical:
where can i Source New headlamps? I need lights for LHD With white parklights. if they are standard size 7" then it is easy.

    TIA

    Best Regards

    Hi Arnulf.
Answers to some of your questions.
A “Q” registration prefix signifies a kit car made up of several different sources & donors. Once you have a Q plate you are stuck with it. You cannot re-register it with a personal plate and it can seriously affect the value of the car. Nobody really wants a Q plate.
IVA is the individual vehicle assessment that all kit-built cars have to undergo before being registered for road use. It replaces the SVA which is basically the same thing under a different name. The IVA is a very, very thorough examination of all aspects of the car and it’s construction.
I’m sure you can easily find any parts you need to replace.

I think it has an export marker too.
Not much to go on, provenance wise.

    Based on info below:

    Vehicle details

    • Vehicle make:BRIGHTWHEEL
    • Date of first registration:July 1990
    • Year of manufacture:1990
    • Cylinder capacity (cc):3500 cc
    • CO₂Emissions:Not available
    • Fuel type:PETROL
    • Export marker:Yes
    • Vehicle status:Not taxed
    • Vehicle colour:BLUE
    • Vehicle type approval:Not available
    • Wheelplan:2-AXLE-RIGID BODY
    • Revenue weight:Not available

It was put on the road before the SVA test came about - didn't come in till 1998. With regards to MOT's it appears to never of had one, and hasn't been taxed since 2005. I think the MOT system only started in 2006 or so, hence why no information showing on there.

Wind deflectors i believe are from Brasscraft in the UK (no prices on there)

    http://www.brasscraft.co.uk/index.php/ww-visors.html

    or Europa spares
    https://www.europaspares.com/cobra-w...es-16-x-7.html

Mirror - wing mirror or center mirror? - again Europa Spares should have something suitable

You would be better getting your mirrors from S&J and get the ones that fit on the side of the Brasscraft Screen.
