Hi to you all,
… and the sun continues to shine (although it did tip down for a few hours last week). We’ve made the most of the sun and have variously been away camping at a music festival / done a spot of gardening / enjoyed a couple of beer festivals / fired up the barbecue on several occasions / been to the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Sadly, the big black Dax did not feature in any of our recent trips out and about. How about you?

July’s meet, at The Queen's Head, Hawkedon, coincided with the Goodwood Festival of Speed. We hear that some of you braved the scorching sunshine and dropped by. Meantime, at Goodwood, the sun was also scorching. As it was the 70th Anniversary of Porsche, there was plenty of 917s to lust after, as well as plenty of other on and off-track action. If you’ve never been, it really is worth a visit at some point.
Also recently, was the Le Mans Classic. We know that Andy & Joy Soar represented AS Motorsports and took a DBR and a tent (and not much else) to France. No doubt a jolly time was had. Even though these two events are very close together on the calendar, there still seems to be a huge variety of classic vehicles on display and running.
Which brings us to this month’s meet on Sunday 19th August @ 12:00, and we’re off to East Suffolk. By recommendation from Guy Beston - The Griffin Inn, High Street, Yoxford, Suffolk IP17 3EP. and (0172 667078.
Don’t forget to phone and book if you intend to eat.

We’ll continue to populate the ‘3rd Sunday’ calendar with interesting pubs to visit in our usual ‘On Tour’ format.
If you have a recommendation or favourite venue, please let us know.
