    soft roof fixing point

    hey Guys

i bought my cobra some months ago without having the roof assembled onto it. unfortunately the manual does not define exactly where to drill the body (for example) behind the doors where the fixation points will have to be fitted

as i know there is a "template" available to identify the exact spot for drilling

would any of you have that template? could you share?

    many thx

    g

There is no template I’m afraid as every car/hood is different. You need to mark it out yourself and drill away.

Do you have an excess of material at the front to cut yourself??

    Hey there
Thx - i saw on a video for factory five soft roof that they provided the template for drilling point
For pilgrim there is no such as per yor comment - ok, will figure out

Yes - i have excess material to cut from

Let me have 2 more questions:

    - what type of glue you would recommend to use for fixing the leather into those hood bows?

    - when manual says:
“ Hood frame body fittings are attached to the body as shown on fig.1c.
    1. Glue a pieceof wood into the body in this region to give a strongfixing. contour the upper edges of the wood to match the undersideof the body moulding.”

I have the body fitted etc, i cannot really see how i could put wood into the body now. Any idea?

    Thank you kindly

You need to shape a block of wood to the under of the body behind the door opening, where the hood bow fits. Then fibreglass it in from inside the wheel arch.

The fibreglass alone will crack if it’s supporting the hood bow on its own.

You need to use fibreglass resin and mating really.

Glue for the hood bow to hood material should be Evostik or similar.
