No worries. Good to hear they have worked for you. Renewed my confidence.

Machine 7 are only a couple of miles away from me and I've used then for some small parts. Seemed a slick operation

Well, the good news is that I have electrically fixed the grey (expensive) one .. seems like it was indeed a dry joint.

Bad news is that I've mechanically bollocksed it and now it will only move in one direction oops. Probably the tiny little springy things inside..

I thought I'd order one from Machine 7, in case I've truly bollarded mine in trying to fix it.

But it seems someone .. can't think who .. has ordered them all and they are out of stock, on backorder and with no ETA for fulfilment.

Wow. Queueing up to buy a load of old junk. Somebody, somewhere, is laughing into their bowl of noodles. British industry once had this covered. Such a pity. (embarassment/shame)

Where’s the alternative. I’m looking into Making these switches to give security on supply for my builds but it just doesn’t add up

No one will be lining up for switches that cost 8 times as much for small scale batch production

Having not had any trouble with the machine 7 ones other than supply I see no issue in continuing to use them.

Thanks Steve - as you say, that seems to be something very different The old Beetle stalks we're talking about just clamp around any tube column ~37.5mm dia, whereas that's an entire column out of ... something

Not even circles now - took it apart a second time and now it's stuck fast; which is confusing, as it's so simple inside. Ho hum! The wiring, though, is more or less done bar the things that aren't physically in the car yet (I haven't bought a horn, the radiator and therefore fan aren't installed and, glaringly, no engine ), just need to finish the gauges on the dash and then everything works*

Ha bloody ha I don't think "But I'm only planning on using hand signals" will suit for the IVA, though

OK, I'll let you off this time We'll see which happens first - I fix these stalks, or theirs come into stock!
