Its official, i hate the jag handbrake

Is there anything i can do to get the handbrake better? Queue electric...

Ditto Gav, I just look at mine and say nah just stay there and look good lol. I fitted a line lock with a savage switch on the dash, oh how easy is it now God damn brilliant. I spoke to the director at my local MOT garage and he said as long as I point out to the tester that I want him to use the line lock as the park brake instead of the jag handbrake it ll be ok. I did question it wasn't mechanical and separate from the system and he said that some Citroen cars used it in the past and it'll be ok. I'll ask the tester when the Mots due at the end of March and report back.

The handbrake is sooooo tight to pull up, it wont hold on any incline and dread using it.
I have tried adjusting the two nuts in the picture as the handbrake when i let it off wouldnt fully return, slack seen by the hbrake side, so i thought adjysting the two nuts to take up this slack would help...but handbrake just goes stiffer sooner. I think its a leverage problem or my cable route?

I will do that eventually but how come some members on here say once adjusted its ok?
Mines been bloody useless from day one and only just passed iva at the time..?

Which electric solenoid did you use, hoping to keep my inboards until i have to go x300 route, though dont know if i can get your solenoid to work with my inboards?

Yep Jaguar hand brake has to be balanced and fairly useless. There is a jag handbrake mod which was developed by the E-type guys which does an improvement on the balancing and canter lever.

Gav when I had mine pre iva tested the tester called me round to give an extra pull just to get another click and get it passed. He did say the jag handbrake is pretty damn useless. Mine worked ok apart from a steepish hill where I needed two hands to yank it on enough to hold. That was enough for me to make it an in car ornament.

Just bought Biondo Racing line locks for mine (although my jag handbrake does hold - just!). You can get them on EBay or from CM Frost. You'll need two 1/8 NPT to 10mm metric fittings, CarBuilderSolutions do these now or again, EBay. I am sure I've seen other people on here doing similar
