I am very pleased with SMS paintwork. Made a cracking job on my car. £3800 but I also had extra work carried out. Front spoilers fitted and wheel arches filled in.

Don't be fooled by cheap paint prices.
Had an SMS job on one Crendon (been repainted since) and it stone chipped really badly. Much worse than other cars I have owned and used in a similar way.
Might have to pay them a visit, although its probably self-flagellation.
But certainly a lot easier for me to get to than PMBs.

Are there any decent paint works in the South East?

I know of a bodyshop in Basingstoke - did a cracking job spraying doors & hood (perfect match to my gel coat) after I made some repairs. https://www.alexanderautos-basingstoke.co.uk/contact The pics on the website arent of his place, its a bit like something from mad max... He's done a few other fibreglass cars to full restoration standard (esprit, covette etc) too.

A friends garage sends cars to him too. Quoted me £1900, for 2 pack (mine would need taking right back as its quite scratched) - drive in drive out for a whole car (he'll strip & prep the car).

    Bargain.

Thank you all very much for your information and experiences I have spoken to SMS today and it will be booked in as soon as IVA is passed, the guy on the phone was really positive with answers to my questions which gave me a lot of confidence given we’re about to part with a few quid.

    Cheers all Mark
