That looks very nice indeed - real class.
Possibly the most expensive suitcase I have ever seen, but still, very nice.

Shouldn't that be fitted the other way around?
I've always been told that the metal 'hoop' which you have at the bottom is to stop the case joining you in the cockpit not stop it sliding off the rack. Never considered having one myself so don't know for sure.

I’ve only seen them fitted as shown. The roll hoop(s) would provide some protection.

Thanks for the compliments guys! I am very definitely a touring kind of guy, so it suits me. And I agree that is one expensive suitcase, but if you had met the Mrs you would understand! It arrived with Morgan tags on so I guess they also supply the official Morgan luggage which might explain the cost! The waterproof cover is a nice touch.

Someone else suggested it should be the other way around to avoid decapitation but as Dek said the roll hoop should offer protection - well, to the driver anyway........

    Hi Andrew,

That looks a very nice setup

May I ask, is the a single post lift you have there if so, how practical do you find it?

Hi Kiel/Duncan - it is a "movable" two post lift and I love it. Gets the car high enough to sit under in an old office chair. Had it 5/6 years now. From http://www.sjrgarageequipment.co.uk/2-post-lifts/ Advantage being you can set the width to suit your garage and it is slightly lower than standard 2 post.

[QUOTE=adw250;589321]I did buy and fit the rack in the end - it didnt restrict rear view too much with a nice suitcase from motoring classics added and freed up a lot of boot space. I appreciate its not for everyone but I am very happy!

    Andrew,

Like the look of your rack and am thinking of doing the same to my Viper. Could you tell me what it is, and where you bought it from ?

    Many thanks,

    Brian.

Hi Brian/Graham - it is from Europa https://www.europaspares.com/exterio...boot-rack.html

I fitted it by drilling through the lid - much the same as the chap had in my original post. When it has a heavy suitcase on I add the side clamps as well for a bit of extra insurance - perhaps overkill but rather safe than sorry.

    Cheers
