New dax stalks from s & j motors

    Hi All,

S & J motors now do the 3 stalks you need to replace the plastic ones in the Dax. they are stainless steel shaft with a polished aluminium end - this makes the ends lighter than stainless ends. M6 threaded as well - very nice!!

speak to John 01257 262881 I think they as £28 a set if you want any.

    Thanks Lee

I take it these are for the Sierra stalks? I wonder do they also do a similar item for the BMW E34 column used on AK's?

Also be careful, don't fit these prior to IVA as you may risk a failure due to the markings.

    Hi Alan

I just wondered what the issue is with the aluminium stalk ends and IVA? I checked with Jon at AK before I fitted mine and was advised there should be no problems with IVA. I'd hate to think I failed due to this.

    Regards

    Russell

They do not have the identifications of controls on them. All switches and functions must be permanently marked so as not to cause confusion to the operator

Yes, you wouldn't want someone nicking your motor and not being able to turn the wipers on!!

I agree but I don’t make the rules. I’m just highlighting the requirements for test.

I think I'll check in advance with the test centre as Jon at AK said they fit the aluminium stalk ends and haven't had any issues. Knowing my luck, the test centre I use will need the ends marked up

It’s strange how different centres have different rules given it’s the same test. I just do what i know is required at mine.
