    Bloomin' difficult to photo deep in the footwell, especially in 35+ degree heat !!

    Anyway, as you can see, I used some aluminium angle, cut and drilled to suit with a simple plastic roller running loosely on a fixed long bolt.

    As the strain on the roller bolt is so small, it could easily be supported from one end.

    Just an update on events...

    Checked the cable on both ends, removed from carb and checked both for restricted movement.

    It turned out to be the carpet on the wall nearest to the pedal. Over the 11yrs it's been on the road, the tacky glue became unstuck, and a gradual carpet mold occured by the pedal. Tricky to find, but now thinking of refitting the interior.
