    Cranked gear lever

    Hi Guys

im on the road and enjoying it. Must go to a Sunday group meet soon

i want to replace the gear lever from Gardner Douglas standard with one that’s cranked forward more like the Shelbys I’ve seen online partly the look but it’s rather too far back and quite short

has anyone else done this and where did you source it from trying to guess the best position is hard btw it’s a standard Tremec 2 bolt connection

    thanks

I've got one of these (without the spanner).

Its a Hurst shifter, fits the toploader via 2 bolts. You also then need a knob.
RealSteel might do them (haven't checked) or you cna order from the US from Southern Automotive or one of the many other outlets.

    Or there is this:

    Crendon Chassis No.49
    Huddart FE428 + toploader

Not listed in the Shelby Register.

Speak to John at S&J 01257 262881, he makes them as per original, he does them in 2 lengths as they need to clear the dash. They also come ready to bolt to a tremec box.

The Europa one looks crap compared to the S&J one. Having seen both I think the shorter one is best, but it's personal choice.

    Talking Tremec Gear-lever

    Make it yourself!

12mm round stainless and a piece of 5mm plate with 2 holes, job done!

The Europa one is cranked too high to be anything like the original
