    AC Cobra Euro 427 Replica 3.5ltr V8
    Built to a high standard by me (a qualified and fastidious engineer) over a four year period and finished in 2016, this Fiero Euro 427 based car has been built to an extremely high standard. Finished in a Ferrari metallic silver with silver stripes, grey and red leather interior, trimmed in grey wool carpets, a wooden & alloy spoked period steering wheel plus 17” Halibrand replica wheels. Smiths dials and lots of chrome give it that special look without being ‘too bling’!
    Having passed its IVA test in 2016 with flying colours, she has only been out to a few shows thus resulting in a shameful less than 500 Miles on the clock. I am selling her due to me working away most of the time and not getting the time to enjoy her.
    The original donor vehicle is a Ford Scorpio offering uprated disc brakes all round, the steering rack and column, the rear axle and general running gear. This also allowed the use of the year related registration plat so no ‘Q’ plate. Aluminium silver on black registration plates also add to that period look.
    The engine is well presented with a Rover 3.5ltr V8 unit, twin SU carbs, and twin stainless steel 4 into 1 collectors / headers wrapped for heat dissipation plus a pair of twin side pipes offering a fantastic V8 sound. The engine was stripped, cleaned, painted and rebuilt plus a new aluminium hi-efficiency alloy radiator with twin electric fans fitted and an oil cooler. It is fitted with a manual 5 speed gear box and a new clutch. I am unsure of the power output but it’s plenty quick enough for road use and sounds fantastic with its pops and crackles. A real head turner! I chose the rover V8 engine combo since it is the nicest, well trusted and sensible V8 for this car. The parts are remarkably cheap, it’s easy to uprate and modify and maintain whilst offering reasonable efficiency and more than enough power delivery of a light weight car such as the Cobra.
    Main features:

    • Mercedes grey perforated leather covered dash board, centre console and door cards. The red leather bucket seats and door trims are then piped in the same perforated leather to tie it all in. the grey, wool carpets are also trimmed in red stitching. The seats have optional head restraints to comply with IVA standards. Each seat is fitted with multi-point Sabelt harnesses and forward / backward adjustable. Each head restrain is protected by chrome roll tubes.
    • Smiths instruments include the Speedo, Tacho, fuel level, coolant temp, battery voltage and ampere plus clock. The polished stainless steel dash insert incorporates chrome / aluminium sports style push buttons and indicator lamps
    • Sony car stereo with CD player, MP3 phone connectivity and FM. Twin speakers mounted in the doors – trust me, you won’t need the stereo with the sound track the engine has!
    • Fully trimmed boot with boot lid stays, lockable handle, chrome hinges, curtesy light, storage compartments, battery and main power isolator.
    • Forward opening bonnet with a pair of chrome lockable handles and bonnet stays. Large scoop providing air flow to the engine bay and great looks.
    • Provided with a red mohair, tonneau cover that fits across the whole cabin offering weather protection.
    • The bright aluminium and black Halibrand wheels are fitted with dummy spinners and brand new Toyo Proxes 16” tyres offering great period looks. The suspension is adjustable coil of shock independent units offering great on-road stability, adjustability and handling.
    • The whole chassis is etch painted for durability then the whole of the underneath is protected by galvanised plates. Sandwiched in the chassis, floor and doors is automotive sound deadening foam to add more of a ‘quality’ feel to the car.
    • Recently MOT’d and road ready to enjoy this summer. I have found a classic / specialist car insurance policy this car is very inexpensive to own and seems to be holding if not rising in valve. Better than any investments in the bank and a whole lot more fun!
    • The car comes with a complete dossier including build photos, car and engine manuals, and certificates, build history and much more. She cost more than £20k to build and countless man hours
