    How many?

As the Cob is approaching 30,000 miles, I have totted up things :-

    2 engines
    3 gearboxes
    4 sets of tyres
2 different headlights and brake lights
    3 clutches
    2 diffs
    2 different brake setups
    1 chassis mod
    4 fuel pumps

apart from day to day servicing stuff I think that's about it.

Track days and drag racing make you change things, don't you know!

Been such fun, for nearly 30 years now....

    Cheers Clive

I'm doing it wrong.. I've had 3 engines, 2 gearboxes, 2 different sets of headlights - no, three, my Dad accidentally broke one headlight, 2 different sets of tail lights...

...and I haven't even finished it yet

One set of tyres and one fuel pump.

    Plus about a dozen tweaks.

    Clive,

I only know that you are not me because you’ve consumed 1 more Clutch and Gearbox than I have, and as I’ve now clocked 40K miles I’m feeling frugal in comparison

    Let me think:

2 engine rebuilds (1st a cracked block, second a broken piston due to incorrect timing)

    1 new clutch

    1 new clutch slave cylinder

1 set front brake pads (an upgrade)

1 set of new carburetors (also an upgrade)

    1 headlight

    1 new distributor

1 new valve spring (flaw in one; as they are dual springs, I didn't drop a valve)

1 set exhaust gaskets (forgot to final tighten one side)

    1 rubber exhaust hanger

Doesn't sound too bad except I've only got a little over 8000 miles on the car. No doubt there'll be more to come......

Thirteen years, 45,000 miles, two sets of tyres, one replacement fuel pump, one replacement steering rack and one flasher relay. (I think that's all.)
    Cheers, Clive

The only thing I keep replacing is the fuel. On too regular basis!!

But due a gearbox change within the next month. On the 2nd diff, 2nd set of handbrake calipers, and....oh yes, the complete front end of the body of the car!
