    Earth Petrol Filler Cap

    I have read a lot about people running an earth from the aston filler cap.

    As i am planning on bonding the base down i will not have any fixings.

    Is this earth an IVA necessity? I dont think i have seen it in that door step of an IVA manual.......i understand the tank is.

    I have just passed my IVA and they only wanted to see the earth on the tank.

    Gillingham wanted to see the earth on the cap as well.
    I just added an earth tag onto a mounting screw and ran this to an earth point on the chassis.

    Likewise, but if the OP doesn't have any fixings.. you could drill & tap the bottom where the hose connects, and bolt on a ground strap there; the 'fat' part at the top has plenty of meat on it to drill a shallow hole for an M4/M5 button head bolt.

    Hi Jules,

    I don't believe it is a IVA requirement, mine passsed in Jan without at Kidderminster, however i would drop a tag to the chassis regardless.

    I will be doing the same, lol
