    Seems cheap?

    Hi,

I've seen a Sumo with RV8 for sale which, on the face of it seems very cheap. £17k and it seems to have all the right bits; painted, Image wheels, good interior.

Does this seem cheap? I haven't asked any questions about it yet, but from the pics it looks good.

If so, I could ditch the idea of building (for twice the cost) and spend some money on the engine and 'tarting' it up.

Does anyone know of V8 Developments near Spalding, they claim to be RV8 specialists?

Key question: what does the V5 say? if it doesn't say Pilgrim Sumo, walk away.
is it a Q reg? if so you cant put a private plate on it.

I know of a very low mileage correctly registered jaguar based sumo that the chap would take £20k for. 3.9 rover v8.

Lots of nice mods , 1 owner and only £3k miles.

Let me know if if interest and il pass on details.

I don't know about the V5, but it is not on a Q plate. I presume the reg is from the donor, as it is a K reg, so donor 1991/2. I presume most Sumos are Sierra based? It's actually up for less than 17k.

google "check my mot" then click onto the .gov page and enter the reg and it will tell you what it's registered as.

if it don't say Pilgrim Sumo, that's why it's cheap.
    Regards

No, I'm not "repairing" it, I'm fine tuning its performance.

Thanks I checked. It has little information but says just "PILGRIM". I checked another that is for sale at more money and that says "PILGRIM COBRA". No mention of Sumo on either.

Pilgrim Cars is enough to identify it. As long as it’s HPI clear and you are happy with the MOT history then it’s worth a look in my opinion.
    Just my 2d’s worth.

PS. Just looked at the car on a website. The seller has a 100% feedback and the car looks very presentable. If a Sumo is what you are after then definitely worth a look. Good scope for improvements to the engine too.
