The 428 is becoming a 462 stroker, Eddy heads, intake, carb etc

The seats and the digidash can never be erased from the collective memory, no matter how hard we might try.

Nice...losing the standard heads and cast iron manifold alone will be like losing a passenger weight wise

    cheers

I even sprung for the aluminium Edelbrock waterpump to replace the cast iron original .. adding lightness. To my wallet.

After moving the car in summer 2016, I took the opportunity to do some measuring - like how much (or little) clearance to the bonnet and floor the car might have when all is said and done; the car is sitting on chassis trolleys at this point, so is higher than final ride height. Turns out that the air cleaner just clears the bonnet, and the sump .. well, that will just clear the floor:

Then there was much measuring while we figured out where the body needed extra trimming at the footwell corners to clear the chassis (same on both sides), and the engine came back out again:

The body got lifted into the rafters using an array of pulleys, and I set about making brake lines:

Will you be swapping out that massive bonnet scoop, or is it needed for clearance issues?
Oops, forgot to reply to you earlier I have two bonnets - one has the giant Dax scoop (that one) and the other is a plain bonnet with no scoop to which I can add the 'original style' scoop that I have. Turns out that the plain bonnet clears the air filter (just), so I won't need to resort to the giant bonnet scoop - although I might if I fit the ITBs I have..

Canton do a reasonably shallow sump that will help you out ( I suspect you know this)

Real Steel do 'em under Ford if you don't

The sump isn't actually the lowest part with the sump that I have .. which, er.. is either Canton or someone else I haven't seen it in a few months now! The bell housing is an inch or so lower than the sump, so I might need to slice the bottom lip off to gain a little bit of clearance back at the expense of something to bolt the back plate to

Thanks Aaron, I suspected you may have the original style bonnet lurking somewhere with all the other parts. I much prefer the understated look (as much as it can be on cobra!) and have the same Dax add-on for mine. I hope the build thread helps inspire you through to completion - keep it going....
