The body seems to be too thick around the door to accept the rubber door seal.
I have one thickness of fibreglass off the body and then the carpet (the fibreglass panel finishes under the body not on top of it) it measures about 6mm thick.
Should I have thinned the fibreglass before glueing the carpet to it or do I have the wrong seal?

I’ll try and post some tomorrow, I’ve opened the seal by hammering it on, but it opened it that far it just keeps falling off

That looks fine. Can you send a pic of the door seal cross section.
One thing you could do is cut the carpet back so the door seal just clips on the fiberglass.

Same here, had to trim the carpet back. Once the seal is refitted and tight against the carpet it looks perfectly fine.
Best anti speeding device - a rear view mirror with a police car in it.
A pedestrian - someone who thought there was still a couple of gallons in the tank.
