    Two steps forward....one step back.

Managed to get the newly welded exhaust headers reinstalled today and get her running....the knocking noise seems to have gone, which is great news.

Ran her for about 20 minutes, made sure the fan kicked in etc l....which it did.....and then switched off.

Went to switch on again, fuel pump whirred as usual and then suddenly stopped. Engine started, it ran for a while and then spluttered to a stop. Fuel pump no longer working!

So, now we need to try and find out why and fix that.

I'm going to post a separate thread to see if anyone has any thoughts.

Have you got a fuel fitler between pump and engine? Gunk from tank jamming pump?

    Hi Kev,

The filter is between the tank and the pump.

    Cheers

Here is a quick video of the engine running.

Sound might not be great as just recorded on my phone, but no knocking!!

Not clogged on the inlet then....unless the filter is jammed (bit unlikely).

    Hi Jon,

Yes, but forgot to update here. The wire had just detached itself from the pump. The terminal at the end of the wire had become a bit loose and just needed squeezing up a bit.

    No issues since.

    Cheers

Great, nothing serious but a bit worrying at the time. Good luck with IVA . Nice 2020 present for the New Year.
