    Axle Weights

Does anyone know the axles weight for an AK with a Rover V8 (for the IVA application form) please?
    Regards

No, I'm not "repairing" it, I'm fine tuning its performance.

I would just use the weights supplied in the build manual

I have that, but those are weights are the ones I used for my old LS3 build application three years ago.

Surely it should be less with a Rover V8?

    Craig,

i am sure a quick call to Ak will give you the answer. Worth getting the weight correct for IVA brake test efficiency test.

"To meet the IVA required standard for brake efficiency the brakes on your vehicle must have a:

minimum service brake efficiency of 60%
minimum secondary brake performance of 25% (where testable)
minimum park brake efficiency of 18%

All brake efficiencies are calculated using the design gross weight or the calculated laden weight."

The weights will have a bearing upon the brake calculations but I would suggest that the usual axle weights would allow the option of fitting a cast iron lump in the future.
That might not be in your plans but a potential purchaser might think along those lines.

    Hi,

Axle weights for the IVA are Design weights relating to the chassis nothing to do with the brakes as the car is weighed at IVA for that purpose. AK Weights are Front 638kg Rear 780kg and Gross 1400kg. This covers all engine/gearbox combinations.
