    Chevy standard power steering pump?

Hi I got a corvette/Chevy small block that has the standard power steering pump and brackets
So I was thinking of using this on my AK with a BMW rack, but it’s been mentioned the volume the pump shifts might blow the rack seals ?
    Anyone any experience of this?
Is this a problem hot rod builders have if using Jag racks ?
    Thanks for any input

I presume there is some sort of pressure relief valve in the pump so it should not be difficult to reset it to match the rack if it is much different.

My last AK used the standard LS3 power steering pump with no issues.

I'm using a VW Golf pump on my latest build with no issues.

I've only every heared of racks blowing when used with electric pumps.

Consider that the output of the pump varys quite a lot with engine speed

No, I'm not "repairing" it, I'm fine tuning its performance.

I’ve been running electric pump for the last 2 years without issue
Just doing a big engine upgrade and when looking into Chevy pump it was mentioned about flow pressure too high issues, but this was on hot rod forums that tend to use Jag racks not modern BMW racks
It just got me thinking 🤔

I have fitted a small block chevy engine in my AK, with The standard GM saginaw power steering pump in chrome inc ordinal Chevy brackets and twin pulley
the only issue was, it interfered with the near side front brake flexy. which was an easy fix by moving the bracket welded to the chassis by 10mm .
At the moment I have only covered 800 miles post IVA (due to moving house) with no problem to the rack seals
