BFGoodrich Radial T/A from Longstone Tyres are now E-marked

    Hello

We have some good news for people who are wanting budget tyres for their Cobra

    https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/vin...radial-ta.html

We now distribute the BFGoodrich range of Radial T/A tyres with raised white letters. We are happy to distribute them now, because the stock we hold are now e-marked.

I have seen period photographs of Cobra fitted with 185VR15 Pirelli Cinturato CA67 https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/cat.../category/7927 The same size tyre front and rear. This was the best road tyre in the 1950s & the first half of the '60s which is why Ferrari fitted them and Maserati and all the no expense spared car manufacturers, so Jaguar fitted Dunlop, but if you wanted a radial on your David Brown Aston Martin it was Cinturato. However these days most Cobra drivers insist on fitting massive tyres.

Racing cars will go Dunlop Racing https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/vin...op-racing.html cross ply and very cool and progressive. So interestingly, the fastes Cobra are driving with less grip than the 185R15 Cinturato

Then track day tyres Avon CR6ZZ https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/vin...-cr6zz/15.html these are great tyres, and actually have a radial tyre carcass designed to give progressive handling on the track on a chassis like the Cobra, so great. Though not really a road tyre, so not so good on rough services and a racing compound t hat i wouldn't want to let get too many years on it.

The next option is the Pirelli Cinturato CN12 https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/pir...rato-cn12.html I think these are the best road tyres for someone with big rims. there isn't really another proper sports car road tyre as big as 255/60R15 for a Spports car.

However i think the most popular tyre for the Cobra recently has been the BFG Radial T/A. https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/vin...radial-ta.html i think that is because of 3 reasons
    Price
    variety of sizes
lots of people like raised white lettering

And the good news is now that the ones we have on the shelf are e-marked. (they are still only S rated, that doesn't have any repercussions in the UK, But i would still fit the CN12 or CR6ZZ because they are at least V rated)

Hi, i currently have 235/60 R15s and 245/60 R15s fitted to my car and was looking to fit CR6ZZs.. but they don't do a 235... Any suggestions please as i would like the period tread and squarer side wall...

225/65/15 will have the same overall diameter as the 245/60s you have on the back.
