Air intake Mk4 with LS engine

    Short question;
Because I switched from a Mk3 to Mk4 body and also mounted an antiroll bar, my current intake doesn’t properly fit anymore. I do know the intake which GD makes (which isn’t cheap), but does any of you has this intake in use in combination with a LS(1) engine?
From pictures I already have I can’t see how much in front mounted this intake will be placed in my GD.
    Thanks a lot

    Thanks Alan
This is the solution I have at the moment also. My filters don’t have enough room in the front or I have to move somewhat to front again. This means I have to increase (welling) the length of the alloy

    Hi Marcel,

Not sure I understand the question, but I have an LS1 with one of Andy’s “nose job” air filters (but mine is a Mk3 body so might not be much use), the air filter sits in front of the radiator totally.

    Was that the question?

Hello Jim, thanks for the reply. Yes, I wanted to understand how much to the front this filter is positioned.
Can you forward me some pictures with PM so it is more clear?
No big difference to a Mk4 I suppose, but because I changed the piping of the cooling and mounted an antirollbar, the amount of available space at the front of my car changed.
    Many thanks in advance
    Marcel

    Fingers crossed

Still can’t embed a picture (back to school for me).

1st photo shows where the filter sits in front of the Radiator (I’ve got an intercooler in front of my rad so slightly obscured).
2nd photo - Hmmm, I may have forgotten about my supercharger piping . Pre fitting the blower there was a 4” stainless pipe between the Throttle body and the Bellows that connect the Air Filter housing (which fits nicely over the top of the rad).

    hello Jim,

thank you for sharing these pictures. Does the airintake only has the foam in front and no (K&N)filter.

Enclosed a picture my old situation.

    Hi Marcel,

Yes just the foam you can see (it’s a double density oiled foam (proper air filter stuff)).
