    Lexus IAC rebuild

Undertook a rebuild of the idle speed air control valve today on my ls400 engine. My unit is the non rebuildable sealed version. Took an hour to work out how to split the stepper without damaging it but in the end all ok. So for 1uzfe users it's quite straight forward and the replacement motor bearings cost £6 rather then the £300 quote for a new one or £80 for a flea bay suspect.

    Al,

I have replaced the OEM Toyota Idle Air Control on my 1UZ with a proprietary unit from BHP in order to reduce the number of ECU auxiliary outputs needed to control it. The standard unit needs, I think, a four wire connection whereas the proprietary unit only needs two.

I therefore have a Toyota IAC, for the 1UZ (removed from a 1992 engine from a Soarer), available if you, or anyone else, have similar problems. I have never run the engine with the Toyota IAC fitted but, given the excellent state of the rest of the engine (before the scrap yard got their hands on it!), I have every reason to believe it is operational.

Still loving the 1UZ, best thing I have done to date!, so thanks to you and the others in the Lexus branch of the CRC for your help & encouragement

    Take care,
    Ian

You don't have a spare MAF Sensor Fuji 22204-42011 for a 91 LS400 1uz . They only have them in China or USA. Friend needs one.

    Jon,

Sorry no, the engine did not come with the MAF. I was planning from the outset to run with an after market ECU that would use MAP as the input so the absence of the MAF & Toyota ECU were not an issue.

Hope you manage to find one.

    Regards,

    Thanks Ian,

I know when he fitted the engine he said it was difficult to hide the six fuse boxes and the cable harness.
