AC Cobra Replica. Unique Autocraft Python

Disclaimer. Nothing to do with me. Noticed it is incorrectly registered.

Nice looking car and Ford engine. Only issue is its registered as a Daimler. So not correctly registered.

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143611929824?ul_noapp=true

For sale - - Unique Autocraft Python - one of the most desirable and highest quality Cobra replicas. This is not a kit car – it is a factory built AC Cobra replica made in 1985 using Jaguar XJ6 components - suspension, brakes, rear axle and limited slip differential.

The 4.7 ltr Ford 289 V8 mustang engine was fully rebuilt in May 2018 and has only done 370 miles since – thus it is still running in and will need an oil change at 500 miles. The engine has many performance upgrades and should provide in excess of 300bhp. Muncie 4 speed gearbox, Gaz adjustable shocks. P700 lights & SIM spots, chrome pit lifters, 15” replica Halibrands wheels, mohair tonneau cover and mohair hood and sidescreens (never used). Moto Lita wood rimmed s/wheel, full harness seat belts, alloy tank, SS exhaust. Incredible sound & performance. Probably one of the best Cobras on the market today.

The Ford 289 engine provides the optimum power for a road car – any more and the car becomes exceedingly dangerous for road use. Go onto Youtube and enter “AC Cobra crash” and you’ll see what I mean.

The Unique Autocraft Pythons have a 2” longer cockpit than usual Cobras which suits taller drivers – I’m 6 feet 2 inches tall.

More info on Unique Autocraft Pythons at www.cobraclub.com (just search for Unique Autocraft Python – my user name is Xenopus).

Very reluctant sale - only reason is a dodgy hip which is threatening to pop every time I depress the clutch.

Tax and MOT exempt (last MOT was May 201. Car is in Chislehurst, SE London/Kent. Tel: 0208-464-3502.

It's still a kit car. It'll always be be just a silly old kit car - even if it was factory built. Sorry Mr Owner/seller. Reality check ends...

    It is a kit car.
Whilst it may have been factory built, but it def wasn't built in the AC factory at Thames Ditton, Brooklands or Camberley.

    What a twat.

May be built in a factory rather than a garage . Unique Autocraft were in Harlow but he does not state it was built by them.

My car was built in a factory and not as a home garage build. Does it make it better? Probability not but if it was built by a specialist car builder then you hope your buying a high standard of build quality.

As you say its a kit of car parts so they all start out the same but the end product does vary.

People can have their opinions on whether it's a kit car but i think it's more important that, according to the DVLA, it's a Daimler. Who would rebuild a car in 2018 and not make sure it was correctly registered?

It is quite true that all cars are kits,
That includes the original AC ,Aston Martin ,Lotus and lots of others.
I know for a fact A M used ford Granada parts in the late Nineties!

Live and let live I say. The guy is just trying to sell his car. I am always browsing PH and always find my self smiling at some of the desperate "pitches". The main dealers are no exception.
The main concern though is the fact it is not registered correctly, which should be addressed before selling.

So if it’s not registered correctly there might be problems getting a garage to mot it but it’s tax and mot exempt. Are there any other considerations?
