That was fun! I absolutely love FE’s and that’s why! And don’t they like a bit of advance! I have seen other examples with those TrickFlow heads and manifold. I think one set up got to 700 hp. Really tempted but it would spoil the look I have with the 2x4 set up which is carb porn for me! It’s also how my engine has been for 40 odd years and it seems harsh to change. Now, if I had another Cobra to build.........

    Tasty, tasty FE.

Albeit I only got part way through the video as far as honing the cylinders before work interrupted play.

Nice to see more head options for the FE. It was Edelbrock or nothing for a long time.

$1000 a set, though! I mean, that's "only" $300 more than the Eddy heads, to be fair..

Here’s the article I was talking about https://www.hotrod.com/articles/dyno...-new-fe-heads/
Now wouldn’t that be something! Also requires drilling out the inlet manifold for pushrods.

Ooh! that brought back some memories of my last FE build.
    Mine was also a 445ci created from a 390.
I used a Jailbreak set up from Barry Robotnik.
With Edelbrock heads and a Comp cam.
Mine initially made over 500bhp but was not very driveable in the Cobra.
I ended up reducing the cam lift and fitting a smaller carb.
It ended up at about 480 bhp with a shed load of torques too.
It drove beautifully in the Contemporary.
    Memories are made of this.
