    Dax Legroom

    Hi guys,

I've just had a long conversation with a guy in Lancashire who's very interested in my Dax. I've advised him that I'm currently waiting to hear back from someone who is seriously interested in it, but if that falls through he'd like to see it. The problem is that he's 6'6" tall, and my Dax has the standard rather than the extended footwells. So rather than his travelling from Lancashire to Oxfordshire only to find he can't physically fit in it, I thought I'd see if there are any Dax owners of a similar height with a standard footwell Dax, and what, if any, mods they've made to gain some extra legroom.

I'm 6'0"", and with the standard Dax bucket seat right back, I'm able to have my legs almost straight. When I fitted a Corsa B EPAS column, I put a smaller 320mm Momo steering wheel in it, so that at least gives extra knee room.

    Thanks in advance!

I’m 6’ 1” and I fitted my Dax perfectly.....until I changed the seats. The new seats are very much more comfortable than the Dax ones but in the end they needed to be bolted directly to the floor, and there is no room to get them back far enough. It’s not too much of a problem but I prefer the straight leg position and I have now lost that.

    Cheers,

    David.

I must be going mad - I knew that because I've just printed a pair of roll hoop spacers for his skinny hood for that very reason!

Thanks Charlie - I'll give him a call tomorrow.

    Thanks David.

I thought changing the seats for ones with a more upright back might be a possible approach - but now I come to think of it the base of the seat is pretty close to the rear bulkhead.

Think his BMI will be as important as the height.

He manages to squeeze himself into a Westfield fitted with a full roll cage at present Kevin, so I think it's primarily a height rather than a width issue!

This may sound daft but have you got any tall friends locally?

If needed I'm 6'5" and east Oxfordshire based.

It might give the other potential buyer and idea if it possible to fit.

Now that's what I call lateral thinking Greg!

Thanks for the kind offer, but I won't need to take you up on it as my Dax is now sold.

    Cheers

    Good news Alan 😀👍🏻

I'm normally reasonably good at the oddball ideas 🤪
