    Show me your bubble tops

Looking for photos of bubble tops on your Cobra

I have made a mould and produced this top for my car.
It fits great IF I had no rollbar.

I'll need to extend it 3" at the rear to clear the hoop.

Also looking to see the angle around the door openings.
Does the top door frame opening angle upwards away from the screen or is it horizontal to match the top of the door?
Does the rear door frame opening opening slope backwards, forwards or is it vertical?

I can cut and piece mine back together to suit any shape of door openings.

A few photos of mine, the section allows the top to go over the bar, tbh it was a bit of a mess when I got it but it's turned out ok although my painting skills aren't good enough so I will get it sprayed proffesionally eventually, my side window rear vertical post slopes backwards slightly the top is horizontal

    Thanks...
Can you show me your top fitted on the car?
Can't see 'the section' around the rollbar that you mention.

I see your door opening slopes back towards the rear screen whereas mine slopes forward.

Could I ask you to measure these sizes for me

The 'section's is an infill piece on the sides which raised the roofline by about 30mm, I'll have a measure tonight

Those are the only ones I've got at the moment, it's currently sat on a holder near the ceiling of the garage, I've added some chrome gutters around the windows since those photos were taken, as for the measurements, the diagonal is 670mm, the other 160mm, hth

    Superb

With those sizes it seems to confirm my hardtop IS from a Pilgrim Sumo.

    One last request

I have just measured from the rear of my door (hooked in my tape measure)
along to the rear of the chrome window frame support on my Dax.
    I measure 30".
    I presume your Pilgrim is a little less....perhaps 28" ?
Could you measure along the top of your door to see if indeed it a little less?

I take it you have a good few inches of clearance between the rollbar and the underside of your roof.

That measurement on mine is 28 3/4 in old money , and yes there is plenty of clearance above the bar, it also means plenty of clearance for my head!

Many thanks for your help rpm015

I have a wee bit o' work left to do to get this Pilgrim Sumo roof to fit my Dax bodyshell

As you can see I either need to increase the height, as you have done, or move the roof back a little to clear that rollbar.
Easy to slice in the extra bit needed from this section of fibreglass pulled from my mould.
( something to do today instead of watching that increasingly oh so boring F1 )

Whatever you do good luck making the rear screen, trying to shape Perspex 3 ways with a heat gun was a total pita, I didn't get it right hence the joint down the middle but couldnt face doing it again, ( there's a saying in the building trade, make a feature out of a f**k up ), maybe I'll revisit it again in the future
