Funny how a few hours can make such a difference...............................

Started the rear panelling (to allow me to plan a few other things like positions for fuel pump, MSD box, expansion tank etc. I am not planning to have a rear window but will try a camera set up instead.

I need to order some CDS tube, thread inserts and some LH rod ends as I have decided to refabricate the tie rods on the rear to get a better performance via a straighter and more aligned position and to have LH and RH rod ends to ease adjustment (they are all RH at the moment). I am also going to move the position of the top wishbone on the rear, 40mm down and 30mm out. That will improve the roll characteristics according to Martin my suspension expert!!! He has offered to fabricate the ties and modify the hub carrier as he is keen to help and loves racecars! He retired from racing about 5 years ago. Will post some pics when I get going on that. Bit of a break from it now for a week.

Got the exhausts back from the ceramic coaters........................................... ....talk about exhaust porn!!!

Trial fitting as I have to construct a serious heat shield over the clutch slave cylinder..

The heat shield is underneath, I am getting it somewhere handy now. When I have it to the right shape I have some Zircotec 3 to bond on which apparently reduces heat transfer by 80%. It ought to, for an A4 sized piece it reduced my wallet by about £80!!

It's still work in progress but getting there. I then have to take it all off again and fit it properly. I have put a remote bleeder on the clutch to avoid any issues with access.

And with the collectors sitting on there (not going to fit it properly at this stage, just making sure I have the exhausts sitting about right on the heat shield). It's all dammed tight.

When they are back off I have some suspension alterations to complete. Still mulling that over. If I do it then I also have to alter the hub carrier............more work!
