Thanks Bob, that’s much more like the force it took me to get them off! Sod’s law says my Torque wrench isn’t butch enough of course

I'm sure with mine I went to the max on the torque wrench, and then 2 grunts more!

That’s probably my plan as well, will get the Garage to Torque it up during the MOT (now overdue)

And yes, I did manage to assemble it with OSR and NSR hubs switched - doh!.

i understand the hubs are handed but does it matter which way around these go? Not even sure I knew which way they went on the XJ40 when I did mine.

The callipers would end up at the back (rather than in front), only real problem is that the bleed nipple wouldn’t be at the highest point.

Felt a bit of a tit at the time, but only an hours work to swap it all over - I’m sure I’ve done worse!

Cheers Jim, I was changing the calipers so that didn’t matter. I do have them at the front which I think is as per XJ40 but that was just out of personal preference.

Not a problem for those of us with a DeDion .. the callipers end up at the top so the bleed nipple is never at the highest point (d'oh!)

Must be a bit of a fraught job standing the car on its end so you can bleed the brakes!

It's a pain, I'll have to borrow the crane the builders just used to winch new roof trusses up on the house down the road..

(Or take the callipers off per the manual - still a pain!)
