That’s a very satisfying set of photo’s!
I was going to say that these photos remind me of mine, but your before ones are much dirtier (which is saying something) and your after ones are much cleaner; very nice.

That's what you would get from a standard SD1 Vitesse, you can't moan at that.
That car would do 0 - 60 in about 7.5 seconds, that was good back in the day in
a fairly heavy vehicle.
You have done a good job of getting rid of the nasty Black Death that was present.
Also I would not have been suprised if the engine was a runner to start with ?
Chris.
Same as you, I've got another 400 cc. I am using 270 2 Piper cam with Rhoads hydraulics, 4 barrel Holley with
good flow headers and side pipes exhaust system.
Have no clue of any dyno figures but this seems to work for me .
I would have thought it should be giving around 220 BHP .
Chris.
You should be very proud of what you have achieved.
It is very satisfying to rebuild an engine yourself, good work!
Classic Replica Viper currently in build
Thanks. Just hope it isn’t too long before it can be fired up again!
Out of interest what it the engine from? Looks like an early block, P6 or early RR?
Is it runing later, larger port heads?
What's the spec'
The heads look like SD1 type, as for the block, if it was an early P6 there would
have been a rope crankshaft seal as apposed to the neoprene type.
Block numbers would be 10a and SD1's, 11a .
Chris.
Its a 14 bolt 3.5 from an SD1. 11a block number.
- Standard heads/ports. (skimmed to allow for composite head gasket)
- Viper Hurricane cam
- Re-bored with higher (10.5:1) compression pistons
- Edelbrock performer manifold - 2198
- Edelbrock/Weber 500 carb (i refurbished this but probably needs replacing at some point)
Got LOADS more images of the build if you need/want to see anything specific.
Thanks,
