Hi All.

I was thinking of upgrading the headlights on my Z4, and have just come across this:

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/mot-inspection-manual-for-private-passenger-and-light-commercial-vehicles/updates

In particular:

4. Lamps, reflectors and electrical equipment 4.1.4 Headlamps - Compliance with requirements - Changed sentence from 'Existing halogen headlamp units should not be converted to be used with HID bulbs. If such a conversion has been done, you must fail the headlamp.' to 'Existing halogen headlamp units should not be converted to be used with high intensity discharge (HID) or light emitting diode (LED) bulbs. If such a conversion has been done, you must fail the headlamp.'

There was a recent thread on here regarding a new design of LED bulbs for H7 units that had the correct cut-offs. Anyone who has fitted these (or others) may wish to test that their spare original halogen bulbs still work OK, possibly immediately prior to the next MOT...
