    IVA Emissions

With a chevy 350 carburettor engine fitted to my build what is the situation regarding emissions for the IVA test, is it going to be a real challenge
to get it through or will it need some modifications.
    Any comments/advice appreciated.

Age of engine will determine what emissions need to be met, so age of the block is what you need to know

    Thanks Paul
That is what i thought, I imported the engine from the states so perhaps i need to speak to the suppliers. I also need to see if the engine has a serial number
    stamped on the block.

    Hi,

You will need a Dating Cert from an engine building company that are on the DVSA list. Try Knight Racing, i think they do it from pictures, they will obviously charge you.

Methoni, I hope you specified that your block had to be pre 92 (I think).
Otherwise you will need catalysts in your exhausts for sure.
As said you'll need the casting numbers from your block first and then again someone like Peter Knight to certify it's age.
If it says on your block "Hencho en Mexico" it's a new one.

Literally translated - Hencho = Full, Hecho = Done.
Interestingly, if you put "Hencho en Mexico" into Google translate, it still translates it as "made in Mexico"; maybe it just knows I'm crap at languages..

Lleno, pronounced 'yenno' is Spanish for full, or completo. Or that's all I have ever used when I lived there.
Most products over there are labelled Hecho en Espana. Which translates as made or 'done' in Spain.
    Q. Puedes lavar los platos? A. Hecho! (Q. Can you wash the plates? A. Done!)

Never seen or heard of hencho. Sounds like a doorman or a bouncer!
