Pilgrim sumo mk3 doors and latches

    Hi all,

    Me again sorry.

I am looking to fit the doors and have now come stuck with how to install the door handle to the internal latch.

I have got the ford sierra handle and latch.

Has anyone got an idea of how the handles fit to latch?

I must admit, they look pretty rough the plastic handles. I would also be keen to know if anyone has a better set up that look better then these?

    Cheers
    Aaron

Thanks, looks like a great idea.

Did you go through the IVA with these?

    Aaron,

I used the Sierra locks & handles supplied by Pilgrim as part of the donor kit. I agree with your comment re the handles looking a bit rough but i went for function over form. Some pictures of the fitting below.

From memory the fitting was straight forward, I don't remember having to shorten the actuating cable or make any other changes. The finished result was not to bad and has work without any problems. However I do like Andrzej's solution which is much neater than the dated Sierra handles

Hope the above may be of some use to you.

    Take care,
    Ian

PS Andrzej is in Poland so the IVA test would not apply.

Thank you Ian, and for the wheel pics too.

I'll give this another go,I may need to shorten my cable but now seeing how yours is, I was not far short so thats good to know.

I'll give then another try, and completely agree, I will use them as all I need is it to function so I can get one step closer to IVA then I can change it later if needed

    Cheers

Pilgrim sell some chrome interior handles that look to be VW Beetle: Link

Those can be had a lot cheaper with:

    - black surrounds: Link
