Just coming up to the first 600 miles and starting to check all bolts, nuts, weeping etc etc......
It appears my Mr Gasket rocker cover oil vents are weeping oil onto the rocker cover and then dripping either down the engine or onto the rear spark leads.
I assume this is common place, however is there any advice to stop this.
I am running a 383 sbc with edelbrock rocker covers and Mr Gasket vents?
Any thoughts or comments gratefully received.
Jules.

Are your rocker covers baffled?
As Daryn suggests are running a PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) system?
Doesn't sound like it if you have two breathers.

I have two breathers one each side as provided by the engine builder. The breather has a very open pore wire or sponge baffle.
If i get the PCV billet edelbrock breather, do i inter connect the two with a hose? Didnt expect this situation....logic dictates, allow pressure to move through breather, however oil splatter or vapour to be condensed, caught and allowed to drip back into rocker housing.

All answered and understood thank you......gotta ask why the engine builder gave me two atmosphere breathers and not one set up for vacuum assist to carb????? Any way, PCV temp plastic part bought as billet are all sold out!!!
Thanks again.

My engine is Ford Cleveland but I am sure the same applies to your engine. PCV is more for emission control.
My engine is open breather on both sides with no PCV return valve. My rocker covers are flat on my engine so what oil does come out goes on the top face and nothing onto the exhaust. Open breathing to catchment tanks is your option as suggested with slanted rover covers.
I did look at running one back into the carb but my engine likes open breathing apparently having spoken to various engine builders and forums.

Hi,
Run 1 x PCV valve in one rocker cover to a port on the carb. ( port is normally at the front of the carb.)
