Now that sounds interesting - do you think they'd sell me a pair? Do they fit OK?

Ok, sussed it. KevinW - you can see my hood bows in the pic, they are a rough finish but quickly clean up with an abrasive wheel or similar. They seem to fit very well around the windscreen frame, so I don't think I'll have any problems with them. I expect John would sell you a pair if you email him. Also in the pic are the other stainless parts which also need brightening up a bit. Not much to see yet, but I'll detail the corrective work to the channel a bit more as I progress.

The first pic on this page shows the hood bows on the bench - next to the tailgate hinges. I've got pics of them on the screen frame to post up later. The rear deck attachments are machined specially for JK I think, they're stainless 'top-hat' shaped fittings with an M6 thread inside, and an M10 (I'll check that) thread on the outside. A washer and Nylock nut under the body holds them.
I've made some progress today, will post pics later on...

Busy, busy day in the garage. I started by chopping out the offending GRP from the front channel and grinding, fitting, grinding, fitting, etc, until the hardtop finally sat correctly with the screen when the top was bolted down. The photos will clearly show that my measurements were correct and that I've removed the necessary material. The height difference between the front corners of the roof is 2-3mm now.
With that done, I moved on to re-drilling the screen mounting holes - not so fast. The steel plates welded to the scuttle hoop weren't large enough to accomodate the new position of the windscreen frame's legs. After much heated debate with myself, I opted to replace the old shims with 3mm steel plates large enough to allow me to drill through and secure the screen. Welded them in, drilled, bolted, solid. I'll remove the screen again to sort the screen pillar escutcheons and central support. I love my welder. My screen-to-scuttle rubber seal was not quite touching the body now, so I've tucked it under the frame in a kind of 'mangina' effort to re-train it. We'll see if it works. Massive clean-up, now for pics...

Thanks - I can see the hood bows now - for some reason the first pic with the ancillary items didn't display yesterday.
I'll give JK a call. Have you got any pics of the top hat fixings?
