Just to check, you have written pressure gauge but I assume you meant temp? There is no bulb on the end of the pressure gauge tube. The size I have given you is for the temp gauge bulb
Yes you're right, definitely the oil temp, it's the full sweep cobra oil temp gauge.the capillary and bulb are the same as the water temp.
Thanks,
Lee

Yes, water and oil temp are both 5/8 UNF.
extract from merlin motorsport advert for a smiths mech temp gauge
‘Smiths Classic Mechanical Water Temperature Gauge. Reads from 30-110°C with 270° needle sweep. 52mm body diameter and comes with 6ft 6inch capillary tube with 3/8BSP female threaded bulb on the end, an adaptor is then fitted to go to 5/8UNF thread.”
The captive female nut on the capillary tube looks to be a 3/8 bsp, and it comes with a 5/8 unf adapter, which might need changing if what ever you are attaching to isn’t a 5/8.
