Looks in good condition. Is the chassis rotten. TVR seem to suffer.

The outriggers are rotten and it needs a spray job as well as an interior refresh.

So it’s a body off project

    Chimaera

A thorough restoration is the plan, probably a front brake upgrade as well

I saw the first photo and wondered what that rusty length of scaffold tube under the car was ...

... my mistake, that's the chassis outrigger!

I'm assuming you have shares in POR15 by now? Good luck!

    Hi Gary
What’s the plan? Have it blasted and see what you need to replace after? Which set me thinking (not a good idea). Tubular vs rectangular Cobra chassis. Is one more prone to corrosion than the other or is it just down to the gauge of the steel used? Bet your Viper chassis of a similar or older age was in better shape.
    All the best.

On the same site they offer an out rigger kit or complete chassis.

    https://www.sportmotive.com/tvr-body...is-outriggers/

Some nice prices which make the cobra chassis and body kits look very reasonable.

I would look to cut the out riggers off and replace. The back bone once stand blasted I think you will fine be ok. The only area I would look at carefully are the rear lower wishbone mounts on both sides and if replaced need to be set correct for suspension geometry. I would make a small jig for each lower mount which will make your replacements mounts fit in the same position.

Lots of measuring and you could replace the outriggers then send it all off for coating.
