I think I paid £225 last year for a pair to be reseated and the valves matched up. That was Fiennes Performance in Oxfordshire.

I was expecting there to be a bill for £250+ per head!
Its my intention to buy the seats and valves from Real Steel then get a machine shop to fit them for me. I just hope the valve guides are in reasonable shape.

Not a lot of money really is it, given the cost of the machinery and labour. With my GT40 engine (302) I had Knight Engineering do a hone, crank polish and full rotating assembly balance for £500. That included messing around with an Essex flywheel to work on an externally balanced 302. I thought that was good value. Anyone who asks for the piston rings in order to get the balancing spot on has to be good too!!! Mind you I haven't fired it up yet!

Good people, know their stuff and very used to doing American V8’s. They also do a lot of Rover V8’s for a local guy who builds them for V8 racing series and other classic stuff.
    Nice people too.
