    Changing Ford Sierra Key.

My Sumo3 has the sierra donor steering column with the indicator and light/wiper storks.

I'm ok with the sierra storks and think they would be a pain to change, but the Ford Sierra key just isn't right for a Cobra.

Has anyone changed the Ford barrel assembly and adapted it or removed it to have a more classic key in keeping with the car, I expect to lose the steering lock function but that doesn't bother me.

I removed the stalks and ignition barrel and transferred them all to the dashboard. But you can do that with just the ignition switch.
The column needs to come out and you literally get a hacksaw and cut the barrel off. Then dress up with a file. The cables just then get transferred to the new ignition switch.
You will lose the steering lock function but I have a battery isolator switch for security. That wont stop it from being towed though so a Halfords bought external steering lock would do if you are concerned about a tow away theft. Having said that, if any thief wants your car, they will get it one way or another.

I still have a few of the dome badges in a drawer somewhere - the keys may still be on eBay?

I'll have one if any of them are going David?

My Sierra key has the barrel shape though, not flat.
