Re: New AC Cobra

Dave,

How do you do it, build cobra's all day and answer questions all night. Now this is a service. Also how did you get all that knowledge?. Between you and Wilf it has been very useful.

Thanks

John.

Anyway, back to the garage.

Re: New AC Cobra

Yep,

Enjoyed everyone, my first was a Locust (plywood, brilliant), then a sumo (with my brother), then a burlington arrow, then a caterham, and another caterham then a Hawk 289 Le Mans, then a Hawk 289 (finishing for someone else), and now a Hawk 289 FIA.

I tell you one thing a caterham can be built in a weekend, I with the burlington was that quick.

Kind Regards

John.

Listen you Muppet!!!
They are big on the Tango car but no where near as rediculous as yours M8.
Why don't you get a picture of yours that is on the same angle as one of the pictures on their site and post them up here side by side they I can see how wrong you are.
From the top of the flare to the outer edge they must be about 4" on theirs and yours are al least 6"

Lego or not, I'm in the business of earning a living. i build what I find easiest to:-

A. Build
B. Sell
C. Offer good value for money
D. make a profit on (It is my livelyhood after all)

If you want to prove what a wonderful car the viper is then let's see you build 17 in a year and get a minimum of £26,500 (Which sell for £32,000+ at the dealers)for each of them with the only second hand parts used being the axle cores and the engine block.

You'd have more chance of selling Genital warts than you would trying to build and sell for £26K those bloody things. :finger:

Ooh, I feel better for that. :thumb:

Are AC in Guildford still making the aluminium bodies for Shelby? If they are, it seems strange that they are selling the Mk5/ 289 V8 in the USA as arival to Shelby's own GRP cars.

And are AC still selling the aluminum cars in the UK? Brian Angliss's aluminium cars were works of art.

Re: New AC Cobra

Yes, but very few (I think when I last asked it was 4-5 body's). The guys in Guildford are the aluminium guys, not the Mexican Chop Shop. It is a very long story why some cars are being built in eurpoe, here and in US. In general the guys in Guildford have a contract to build body/chassis for Mr Shelby in the US. Notice the name change, AC went with the american's. I'm not sure what that latest business idea/plan is, when I next see someone in the know I will ask them. In my view it is a great shame, some of the AC guys have so much talent and now they are smaller than most kit car firms. There painter / aluminium / interior men are some of the very best.

Anyway, now in from the garage, it is cold.

John.

Re: New AC Cobra

The website at www.accarsus.com has been updated. $52,000 in the USA for a complete rolling chassis without engine or transmission.
