Looking for a Cobra

Hello Everyone,
I am in search of my first cobra. I am torn between purchasing a turn-key or buying a pre-owned cobra. To give you a little back ground, I am not mechanically able, I just want a weekend driver that is reliable yet has the potential to tear up some pavement. I am finding out that there is a very wide range of prices out there on the preowned cobras with little justification to the inflated prices. Can someone please point me in the right direction before I make a very expensive mistake!!!!

Gonzo

What sort of budget do you have, if that isn't a rude question?
What are you going to use the car for, touring, trackdays?
How much power, but you need to be realistic, as the higher up the scale, the more it costs, I speak from experience.

Best Regards

RE: Looking for a Cobra

I need to keep the cost under 35,000 usd. I'll be using the car for short trips around town and maybe an occational road trip. I would like to have as much power as possible but understand that I need to be realistic. I've been told that I should consider a small block 302 but it seems a little small compared to the listings that I've found on the net and classified ads.
