Re: Hard Top for Cobra Replicas

Hi Pat - I have mentioned I am interested in a Dax hardtop should you get around to making them - have Dax given you the green light to remake and do you think you will?

a few (maybe more)???

If anybody is interested, please feel free to e-mail /or post

Re: Hard Top for Cobra Replicas

Here's two i made earlier.
Lemans style for Dax.
The Blue on requires the boot lid to be modified (That's if you want to get into it with the top fitted)
The black one is currently under development and has a rear hatch that opens so that the boot can be accessed without having to remove the top. Tis one has been under development for qite some time now as the rear screen will be glass and getting a bespoke glass made is a pain in the 4ss.

The type on the blue car without a split boot lid isn't so bad as it seems.
If you want to carry luggage then you can put it into the passenger footwell. If you have a passenger then the luggage needs to go into the boot, this is not a problem because the top un clips in a couple of minuits and the passenger can help you lift the top off. get the boot open and then pop the top back on.....................Not Ideal for Tesco, but when was the last time you went to Tesco in your Cobra??????? :thumb:

The glass taped in position on the black roof is a sample and didn't fit as well as I would have liked and is being re jigged.
The glass will be a bonded on screen with a black borde with fade out, tinted and heated.

I have got to say, those roofs are the best by far I have ever seen, they just flow so well with the car, top job :thumb:

Re: Hard Top for Cobra Replicas

Hi All

Dont know what model you have but I know Bob at Cobretti can supply a hardtop for his cars. I think it was in the region of £450 - £500. Hope this helps!

Regards
Craig.

Re: Hard Top for Cobra Replicas

Found this on ebay, thought it might be of interest:

Alas, my roof replication has taken a knock, complements of the neighbours from hell
and the resultant relocation. . .

Sorry to all.

Blue skies,
Pat

Re: Hard Top for Cobra Replicas

A Quick update on The DB Replicas Dax LeMans hard top that I'm developing.

The glass rear screens will start arriving the first week in March (I am told by the manufacturer).
If this happens and there is time to get one fitted to the black car previously pictured then the car with hard top fitted will be being exhibited at the Stafford show on the 12th and 13th of March on the DB Replicas stand.:thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Fingers crossed, the development of this has been going on since September 2003.
