Crashed Navy Blue Dax seen near Rushden/Northants (A45)

Did a couple of turns around the roundabout on the A45 to get a better view of the dark Navy Blue Dax with White Le Mans Stripes perched nose up into the air over the crash barrier!! - Right near the Safeways roundabout on the A45 eastbound dual carriageway outside Rushden.. Was not surprised to see the police had been waiting for an hour for the recovery vehicle to arrive when I came back past....I know those 17" wheels + tyres cost me around £2K so some tea leaf could have struck it rich just with those!!

Bit of a duffers place to crash tho...must have been flooring it to accelerate after the roundabout & the old tail end snaked away!! - When will people ever learn not to give it loads when you are not going in a straight line?!!

Think whoever you were you were OK tho as I am guessing it was you stood with your hands in your pockets looking glum! - Chin up! - I live 5 mins from Rushden + have a Dax tucked up for the Winter now..would be interested to know if you were local too..(I know Rob + a.n.other cobra owner live (or lived?) in the same village not far from me too..)

Yep, live not far away. What did the owner look like, other than severely annoyed, I might know him.

Didn't take much notice at all of the person; was too busy looking at the damage to the car + trying to make it look like I wasn't rubber-necking to the police!!
Do you know Dirk in your village Rob? (used to have a nice Dax with a 460ci Ford engine in it...)

I was that man.

Yes it is true it was a beginers mistake has I had owned the vehicle for about 4 hours before destroying it. I actually did not collect the rebuilt car until yesterday. I am now looking for someone in the area who can show me what I can and cannot do with one of these things.
I actually live only a few hundred meters from the incident.
It would be nice to meet someone local who could give me a bit of advice.
Hope to hear from someone local.

Hey Craig,

Assume your car is the one that Cheng has been repairing ?

I also have a Dax with a big block. She lives in Norfolk.

You might want to think about ditching that spreadbore carb.

Car looked pretty once mended.

Best regards

Very sorry to hear that you bent the car, a very expensive lesson learned, at least you walked away.

Any pics of the incident??
