July Meet - Uxbridge Auto Show

Dear All,

I've booked a stand for us at the above, which is at the Middlesex Showground on the 15th July. The entry fee is £5 per vehicle in advance, or £10 on the day. I've booked a pitch big enough for ten cars, and have paid a £30 deposit - so I'll be emailing the Thames Valley members shortly to confirm attendees and grab some of your hard-earned!

"Its purpose is to raise funds for charity by organising a show where enthusiasts and their families can display their veteran, vintage and club vehicles in a congenial atmosphere and meet their friends and others who share their interest; and to give the public an opportunity to see something of the world of historic and classic vehicles." Details at www.uxbridge-autoshow.com

So let's give it our full support!

OK all - I have now received the ten exhibitor's passes for the show. So it's now time to confirm the attendees. I'll be firing off an email to the TV dlist as well, but could those of you wanting a ticket and a place on the club stand please drop me a PM or an email, giving your name, address, home and (if you have one) mobile phone number. That way I can also check the details in my TV members database are correct! First come, first served - on the day, entrance will be £10, and there's only space for ten cars on the stand. Jeff/Eric - consider yourselves in, but please confirm with your addresses etc.

I can then post the passes out to you, and I'll collect your fivers on the day. So please only apply for a ticket if you're intending to turn up. Hopefully the weather will have improved by the 15th - but, wet or dry, I've already stumped up the £50 to the organisers!

And remember - this replaces our normal meet at The Swan. I've invested in some disposable BBQs, so if I can apply some organisational skills to this exercise rather than to the day job we may even have some food on the stand.

Come on then guys and girls - please give this event your full support!

Current status!

Passes posted to:

Eric R
Peter B
Jeff D

Passes reserved for:

Me
Tony G / Nick G
Steve N

Apologies from:

Andy T
Dale M

So at present I still have four (possibly five) vehicle passes available. I know some of you folks are on holiday at the moment - e.g. Steve (tourdefrance) and Pete (sidecarbod). So there may be some further confirmations soon.

It's looking like we should have ten Cobs on the pitch at Fleet on Sunday, and the weather's looking good (touch wood!) too. I'll bring the Uxbridge passes with me - so anyone coming to Fleet who would like an Uxbridge pass can get one from me there.
